Glendale Elementary School develops a positive learning environment by purchasing multilingual tools with the help of the Education Foundation.

During the 2024 Fall Grant Cycle, Glendale Elementary school purchased an array of multilingual tools that will improve students’ social and emotional learning (SEL).

The Education Foundation of Anne Arundel County Public Schools awarded a grant of $1,000 to help the school develop a more inclusive learning environment so that all students can thrive.

Through the purchase of bilingual learning materials, like Pocketalk Voice Translators and more, this grant had a profound impact on the students at Glendale Elementary School by creating a more inclusive school community. These new resources facilitate a much needed real-time communication between teachers, the students, and their families.

“… the Pocketalk device will greatly support our school by breaking down language barriers and making communication with multilingual families easier and more inclusive,” said Paola Unger who is Glendale’s Bilingual Family & Community Outreach Facilitator. “It will help staff and students connect more effectively, creating a stronger, more welcoming school community”
