The Education Foundation of AACPS is thrilled to welcome our new intern, Will Andrione!

Will is a senior at Severna Park High School and brings with him a passion for helping others and the drive to make a difference in the lives of students across Anne Arundel County.

Will was initially drawn to this internship because of his commitment to uplifting and supporting his peers. Much of his extracurricular work is focused on empowering young people, and he sees the Education Foundation as a natural extension of that mission. “The work that we do goes directly to helping the youth through the school system, improving their education and lives,” shared Will. His dedication to service has already been recognized as he was named the Young Volunteer of the Year by the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County.

During his time with the Education Foundation, Will is particularly excited to gain hands-on experience with event planning. Having attended last year’s State of the Schools event as one of the student panelists, he’s eager to see the planning that goes on behind the scenes and to contribute to other major initiatives, like the Teacher of the Year celebrations.

Outside of school and his internship, Will is a dedicated volunteer with Happy Helpers for the Homeless and is an avid reader. He also competes in track and field at Severna Park High, where he specializes in sprints. And a fun fact about Will: he’s a huge history buff and once even dressed as Walter Cronkite for Halloween after diving into a biography on JFK!

Following graduation, Will plans to study political science or public policy in college, with the goal of eventually pursuing a career in politics. For now, he’s focused on making a meaningful impact during his internship. “I just want to be able to confidently say that the work I did went towards helping a kid who could use it,” Will stated. We’re excited to have him on our team and can’t wait to see all that he accomplishes this year.
