Maryland City Elementary develops a positive learning environment by amplifying their music program supported by the Education Foundation.

During the 2024 Fall Grant Cycle, Maryland City Elementary School and their music department purchased a full set of soprano glockenspiels.

The Education Foundation of Anne Arundel County Public Schools awarded a grant to enhance Maryland City’s inclusivity in music. The color coded sets made music accessible to English Learners and Special Education students

Through the purchase of the new set Maryland City created an inclusive environment. The color coding on the new sets eliminated barriers of entry into music, making it accessible for all students.

The great thing about having a class set is that it helps foster responsibility and care with the instruments,” one TA mentioned “The child is more invested to not break it or misuse it if they are the sole person in charge of it at that time.”
