Old Mill Middle North creates a positive learning environment by developing a community garden supported by the Education Foundation.

During the 2024 Fall Grant Cycle, Old Mill Middle North was able to cultivate a thriving community garden.

The Education Foundation of Anne Arundel County Public Schools awarded a grant of $5,000 to fund an outdoor learning environment. This addressed their need for a space that fosters community engagement.

Through the funding Old Mill Middle North engaged their students and community, with their outdoor amenities. The new space fostered a sense of community, something critical at this age.

“This project has been such a gift to our school community,” Monika Grogan, an OMMN teacher, said. ” It’s amazing to see how something like a small garden can grow into something that truly brings people together”.
